"Powerful, individually tailored, and outcome focussed... Management Coaching succeeds where other approaches fail"

If you have answered yes to any of the above then Blaze Unlimited’s Management Coaching Programs may be the solution you’ve been looking for. Our previous clients have all enjoyed and been challenged by the coaching process. Interesting to note is that virtually all participants report a higher than expected level of satisfaction with the outcome.  An overwhelming comment has been the value they get from being able to talk to someone, without fear of feeling embarrassed, about the issues that face them then and there.  It’s not just some theory or framework from a textbook, it’s an open, honest and solution focused conversation on the issues that are keeping them awake at night.

Management Coaching is a powerful development intervention. The process of holding an individual to account and leading by example is contagious. Typically, the person we’ve coached will develop and refine their own management and coaching style and their approach to dealing with their teams will change visibly, significantly and for the better.

Benefits

Research indicates that approximately 80% of employee turnover is due to poor relationships with Managers or from Managers not addressing issues such as conflict in the workplace.  In a business environment characterised by skills shortages and difficulty attracting and retaining talent can you really afford to let staff walk out the door because of you or your Managers? Managers who are being coached consistently demonstrate:

  • Increased self awareness
  • Less stress
  • A more diverse array of approaching a given situation
  • Improved confidence in handling difficult situations… AS SOON AS THE NEED ARISES

We’re proud of the Blaze Unlimited Management Coaching Program. Our experience has shown as that:

  • It represents a development program that focuses on current and real issues in the participants’ workplace.
  • The organisation, participant and their teams will all experience positive outcomes.
  • Ensures a transfer of knowledge and awareness into action that produces results... fast.
  • Develops weak areas and leverages from the existing strengths of participants.
  • Improves team performance through more effective communication and leadership skills for participants.
  • Helps managers to model appropriate behaviour more powerfully and effectively to their teams.
  • Tap into current strategic and operational objectives to ensure organisational alignment.
  • Draw from a wide range of contemporary theory and practices – specific to the participants' situation.

Coaching may be used to:

'Perhaps the greatest risk to an organisation is their new managers who, through technical proficiency in their discipline, have progressed into a management role where they are relatively unsupported.'
  • Focus on exceeding performance targets
  • Define performance goals and a plan to achieve goals
  • Correct weak performance (self and team) before it becomes an issue
  • Encourage learning and generate creative ideas
  • Help employees reach their full potential
  • Better understand job expectations
  • Acquire new skills to improve performance
  • Develop and harness a talent
  • Improve listening skills and build and maintain rapport
  • Analyse one's own performance and find solutions
The Blaze Unlimited Management Coaching Program works effectively across a wide range of issues including:
  • Team Development
  • Relationship Improvement
  • Managing conflict in the workplace
  • Leadership

  • Getting the most from your team

Case Study

A previous client from a large Qld Public Sector Organisation was struggling to cope with a rapidly growing team. It had grown from 2 staff to about 14 in less than 6 months. The budget under management was significant (> $5 million pa). Due to the rapid growth there were no systems in place to streamline operations nor were there any formal induction processes to the team itself. Without clear direction many of the more senior roles were seeking to ‘establish’ themselves. This was being done in disharmony and was creating significant issues for the remainder of the team. Team performance was not measured, morale was very low and the likelihood of a formal grievance was quite high.

After a series of 12 coaching sessions spread over a 6 month period with the executive director this team now has clear performance indicators, is fully established with operational processes in place (and being monitored) and has delivered on most of its initial strategic objectives. There is a formal business planning process in place and there is a focus on team development as the team continues to grow (albeit at a much slower rate).

The coaching focused on both the leadership style of the coachee and the practical interventions that were required to establish and manage a new program within Government. Where specific challenges arose, such as dealing with a difficult staff member or preparing for an executive presentation, the coaching focus shifted to address that topic.

The coachee has reported significant personal and professional growth and has also successfully had their role re-classified (significantly) and subsequently won the position.

How the Program Works

There is an initial complimentary meeting between coach and participant to trial the coaching approach, discuss and agree program objectives, determine inter-personal compatibility and answer any questions the participant may have.

The participant has access to a range of evaluation tools for initial benchmarking (to be discussed and agreed with the participant). The Coach and participant meet weekly or fortnightly for 1 hour – flexible session delivery includes phone, email, face to face, on-site or remote.  Each session is structured around the participants' objectives and starts with a review of the coaching objectives and completed activities. The program and coach performances are regularly reviewed and evaluated.

Management coaching is a highly effective method of development that ensures you and/or your leaders understand and apply contemporary management approaches in a way that translates to immediate, tangible benefits in yours and your organisations performance.

  • Improve participants' leadership capability
  • Supports new or "at risk" managers to become more effective as quickly as possible
